Cookies
What each cookie does, why it is there, and how to refuse the ones that are not essential.

The short version
You can refuse everything optional and still use Pitchpoint fully
Nothing on this site is hidden behind accepting cookies. The only cookies you cannot refuse are the ones that make signing in and paying work, and those are exempt from consent because without them the service cannot function.
Optional scripts are not loaded into the page until you have agreed to them. If you refuse, or have not chosen yet, they are not downloaded, not run, and set nothing. This matters more than it sounds: many sites load the tag first and ask afterwards, which means the cookie is already set by the time you see the banner.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are always on. Regulation 6(4) of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations exempts cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for, and these are.
- Supabase authentication — keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Set when you log in, cleared when you log out. Without it you would be asked to sign in on every page.
- Stripe — set by Stripe on their own checkout and billing pages when you pay, to process the payment securely and to detect fraud. We never see your card details.
- Your cookie choice — a single record in your browser's local storage holding what you decided and when. It is what lets us honour a refusal instead of asking you again on every visit.
Optional cookies
These are only set if you agree, and only in the categories you agree to. Accepting one category does not accept the other.
Measurement
Counts visits and shows which pages people use, so we can improve them. It tells us nothing about who you are, and is never used to advertise to you. Provided by Google Analytics.
Advertising
Records that you arrived from an advert and whether you went on to sign up, and may be used to show you Pitchpoint adverts on other sites. Provided by Google, Meta or LinkedIn, depending on where the advert was. These companies set their cookies on their own domains and act as controllers of that data in their own right, under their own privacy policies.
Advertising cookies involve your data being transferred to the United States. See International transfers in our privacy notice for the safeguards that apply.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. It reopens the same choices, and takes effect immediately. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and does not affect anything that happened while consent was in place.
If we add a new purpose, we will ask again rather than treat an old agreement as covering something you were never told about.
Clearing cookies yourself
Withdrawing consent stops anything further being sent, but it cannot reach back and delete a cookie an advertising company has already stored on its own domain. You can clear those directly in your browser — usually under Settings, then Privacy, then cookies and site data. Every major browser also lets you block third-party cookies entirely, which is worth considering regardless of this site.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you being able to sign in, because there would be nothing to remember that you had.
